Please join us tomorrow, October 15th to take part in an international demonstration – a day that will see mobilizations across the U.S., Europe, the Mediterranean and beyond against war and corporate greed and in the defence of our basic rights, welfare, jobs and more. Organisers are calling for the "People of Europe to Rise Up!" and for an international day of mobilization under the banner "UNITED FOR GLOBAL CHANGE".
With all the various events taking place over the past year in reaction to injustices throughout the world, it is important that the momentum remains strong. We – U.S. Citizens for Peace & Justice in Rome – will be joining people from around Europe in protest and to also mark the 10th anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan.
In these 10 years many negligent acts have taken place, such as:
- Multiple ongoing wars and occupations
- Corporate influence and manipulation of governments and financial markets
- Failure by governments to protect and represent the 99% of the people in the world.
It is now time to dust-off any numbness and complacency in order to re-engage with those around the world. Those who are tired of not being able to play a role in their governments or having a say in the decisions that affect their lives. If you fit this profile, please come join us tomorrow.
We will be meeting in Piazza della Repubblica in front of the Cinema Moderno at 1:30 pm. Look for our U.S. peace flag or call Anna on 320 6359555 if you want to try to meet up with at any stage or at the final destination, Piazza San Giovanni.
